"God is dead"
Friedrich Nietzsche (1844 - 1900) was a German philosopher famous for coining the phrase "...God is dead and we have killed Him."
Atheists are constantly trying to murder God, but has anybody stopped to consider the implications of such action?
The consequential problems of atheism are two-fold:
Atheists are constantly trying to murder God, but has anybody stopped to consider the implications of such action?
The consequential problems of atheism are two-fold:
- God has given us a conscience to tell right from wrong. When we commit wrongs we feel guilt. If there is no God then there is no relief from our guilt. If there is no God then there is no forgiveness.
- The majority of modern law is based on biblical principles. The very concept of right and wrong comes from God. If there is no way to deal with our guilt for things we have done wrong, no opportunity for forgiveness and no concept of morality then the difference between right and wrong becomes distorted. Mankind will slip into a wretched depravity with no way out.
Read Romans 1.
We need to be so very careful. God has given us all free-will. He is calling each and every one of us to Him. If the individual does not listen God will not overstay His welcome in the their conscience. Romans 1 tells us that God will give man up to his sinful desires and his heart shall be darkened. Once this happens it is very unlikely that the individual will be able to find his way back.
If you are not a Christian you tread dangerous ground. Read Romans 1 and think about the effects that your actions and your sins have on yourself, your relationship with God and what will happen to you after you die.
Nietzsche himself, the author of the "God is dead" quote recognised the implications of atheism: "How shall we, the murderers of all murderers comfort ourselves?... Who will wipe the blood off us? What water is there to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must not we ourselves become gods simply to seem worthy of it?"
Nietzsche the anti-God philosopher was admired and revered by Adolf Hitler. What a great example of what happens when there is no God and when a man becomes a law unto himself: The perception of right and wrong becomes violently distorted, in this case culminating in the murder of six million Jews and the majority of the world being plunged into brutal war.
E. W. Luzer states: "After God died in the nineteenth century, man died in the twentieth. For when God is dead man becomes an untamed beast".
What is that phrase Historians like to use? ... "we learn from history to not commit the same mistakes in the future..." - something like that.
Do not listen to the fools who think they are a law unto themselves. I can 100% assure you, it will end in disaster.
14 Psalm 14:1 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good."
