Living in the Knowledge of Christ's Return

One of the hottest topics in the Bible amongst BAC's and non-BAC's alike is the end times and the return of Christ. Everybody has an opinion on it and belongs to some school of thought over how and when it will all happen. Most believe that it is right around the corner - the latest catastrophe in the news being something very significant, some believing that the end times have already began. One thing that we can be certain of is that Christ's return is nearer than when we first believed. ( Romans 13:1 1 "And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed."). Revelation 1:1-3 1  The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified  it  by His angel to His servant John,  2  who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.  3  B...

Open your eyes to the devils tactics

A verse used several times on this blog is 1 Peter 5:8 ("Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour"). As BAC's we should be vigilant to two things: first, vigilant towards ourselves; second; vigilant towards what is going on around us. If you read 1 Peter 5:8 you will see that the devil 'walks around like a roaring lion seeking WHOM he may devour'. We must be vigilant towards ourselves and our own personal battle with sin. We must seek God and be Holy, for God is Holy ( 1 Peter 1:16) and open our eyes to the temptation around us, staying away from it. We must also be vigilant to what is going on around us. Matthew 5 tells us that 'we are the salt of the earth, but if the salt should lose its flavour what then is it good for but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men?' ( Matthew 5:13) As BAC's we have a responsibility on this earth - to represent Christ behind enemy l...

The end was declared at the beginning?

There is copious amounts of material and theories on when the second coming of Christ will be. It is pointless to speculate.  Matthew 24:36 tells us, "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only." Christ will come for his followers like a thief in the night (1 Thessalonians 5:2) , taking everybody by surprise. In Matthew 24 Jesus describes the day as ‘two men working in the field, one will be taken, the other will be left.’ Nobody will know the day or the hour, however this is talking about the rapture, not the end times. As Christians we should be able to discern when the end is near. There will be signs surrounding His coming. According to Matthew 24, there will be wars, rumours of wars, earthquakes and famines. These are the beginning signs of the end times. However, will it just be these signs that notify believers of his coming or has God provided something more? Contemplate the story of Noah give...
