The Gospel in Isaiah 59 - 60

Image
Isaiah chapters 59-60 presents a perfect picture of the gospel, even though it is written approximately 600 years before Jesus came to earth. These chapters add to the weight of the Bible as the supreme Word of God and give us hope in a bleak situation. For those people at the time of writing of the book of Isaiah, the things spoken of were things to look forward to. For us today, these things have come to pass and the hope in Christ Jesus is available to us right now. Read Isaiah 59-60 and see the living breathing Word of God. The Hopeless Situation We are In: Chapter 59 Chapter 59 provides a picture of the world today and the current position for those who do not know Christ Jesus. Are you one of those people? Isaiah 59 1-3 states, " Behold, the   Lord ’s hand is not shortened,  That it cannot save;  Nor His ear heavy,  That it cannot hear. 2  But your iniquities have separated you from your God;  And your sins have hidden  His ...

Jehovah's Witnesses are not Christians

What is a Christian? To be a Christian is not to only believe on Jesus, but to be adopted into His family through putting your trust and faith in Him and repenting of your sin and the way you used to live before you accepted Christ.  The Bible often uses metaphors that we are able to understand to describe our salvation. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you." To be a ...

The Gospel in Daniel and the Lions' Den

Even in the days of Daniel, approximately 540 years before the coming of Christ, God knew His Gospel plan for salvation. Isaiah 46:10 states " Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times   things   that are not   yet   done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand,  And I will do all My pleasure,’" Throughout the Old Testament God uses types and shadows to illustrate the salvation to come through Jesus Christ. The story of Daniel in the lions’ den is no exception. Daniel 6: Daniel in the Lions’ den: Through Daniel’s integrity and excellence in spirit he was promoted above all the other governors in the land. The other governors decided to come up with a plan to have Daniel removed. Verses 3- 5 “Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was   in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm.   4  So the governors and satraps sought ...
