"It is Finished!"

John 19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

Before the moment of death, Jesus lifted up His voice and shouted "It is finished!". There is incredible significance in this phrase. Everything that needed to be done to secure salvation was done by Jesus upon the cross 2,000 years ago. Christ gave Himself as the ultimate sacrifice to make payment for our sins. There is nothing for us to do except to accept Christ for who He truly is. To think that there is something we sinners could do to have an affect on our eternal life would be arrogance on our part. Only Christ was sufficient to be crucified for our sins.

Christ did EVERYTHING. The only thing for us to do is to accept God's gift of grace. To inherit what Christ has done we must believe that He is God in man form; that we fall short of the glory of God and need Christ and to repent from our Sin.
