Psalm 32: the Bit Between the Teeth.

Psalm 32:9 "be ye not as the horse or as the mule which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee." This verse sums up the attitude of non christians towards christianity and religion in general. People think that being a Christian means sticking to a bunch of rules that nobody actually wants to stick to and having to use great self control in order to be able to do so. This attitude may carry some weight in relation to certain religions which are based on sticking to rules and finding favour through carrying out good works; but this kind of attitude holds no weight with true christianity and shows the lack of understanding of those who are not forgiven by Jesus and do not have the Spiritual understanding that is gained through putting your trust in Christ. (1 corinthians  2:14  but the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, beca

Haggai 1:7 Do what God wants not what the world dictates

Haggai 1:7   Thus says the  Lord  of hosts: “Consider your ways!  8  Go up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified,” says the  Lord . Haggai begins with the Words of the Lord:  2  “Thus speaks the  Lord  of hosts, saying: ‘This people says, “The time has not come, the time that the  Lord ’s house should be built.”’” 3  Then the word of the  Lord  came by Haggai the prophet, saying,  4  “ Is it  time for you yourselves to dwell in your panelled houses, and this temple [ a ]   to lie  in ruins?”  5  Now therefore, thus says the  Lord  of hosts: “Consider your ways! 6  “You have sown much, and bring in little; You eat, but do not have enough; You drink, but you are not filled with drink; You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; And he who earns wages, Earns wages  to put  into a bag with holes.” 7  Thus says the  Lord  of hosts: “Consider your ways!  8  Go up to the mountains and bri

Joshua 2:19 - The Gospel in the Walls of Jericho

Joshua 2 speaks of the spies of Israel sent out by Joshua to spy out the land of Jericho for Israel. During their time in Jericho, behind the enemy lines, the spies encounter a local harlot called Rahab who agrees to take them into her house to stay. Joshua 2:2-3 states " And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, “Behold, men have come here tonight from the children of Israel to search out the country.”  3  So the king of Jericho sent to Rahab, saying, “Bring out the men who have come to you, who have entered your house, for they have come to search out all the country.” To set the scene, Rahab is a citizen of Jericho and an enemy of Israel. Her own people are seeking out the spies who have come to gather information on the city before the army of Israel moves in. It would be expected for Rahab to give up the spies and side with her own people, however this is not what happens. Instead, we are told in verse 5 that Rahab chooses to hide the spies of Israel in her

the World Wide Web

We are all unique. Psalm 139:14 tells us that we are all fearfully and wonderfully made. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that God has a purpose and plan for each one of us, " For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." There are over 6 billion people on the earth (and a lot more in time gone by) and each one of us has a unique identity with differing abilities, skills and talents and each of us are born into different cultures and circumstances. Yet, despite this seemingly world wide chaotic situation where everybody is different, for those of us who are Christians we are told:  " t here is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." ( Galatians 3:28 ). No matter how unique each person is, those of us who have accepted Christ Jesus as our saviour are one in Him, no matter who we are: big, small, old,

Galatians 5 Becoming Spiritual and not Carnal

Romans 8:6 "F or to be carnally minded  is  death, but to be spiritually minded  is  life and peace." There is a common misconception amongst God-believers today that we are all the 'children of God'. We are not. There are two groups on this earth; those who belong to God through Christ Jesus and those who do not belong to God and are separated from him.  If you have put your faith in Christ, then His Spirit dwells within you and you are a child of God and even equal heirs with Christ. How humbling the generosity of God the Father is, the fact that despite all the wrong we have committed, not only has He made a way for us to be saved, but He has even made a way for us to be lifted up as equal heirs to His Son Jesus Christ who died for us.  Romans 8:16-17   16 " The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,  17  and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with  Him,  that we
