Removing the desire to sin

Paul says in Romans 7:15 "   For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do." As Christians we all fall short of the glory of God, however we are able to appear perfect before God because Christ has taken the punishment that we deserve and is within us. His blood covers our sin just as a light eradicates the darkness. Romans 6 tells us that we were once slaves to sin, however through Christ we are now slaves to righteousness, because Christ is righteous and as we know by 2 Corinthians 5:17 we are new creations in Him (" Therefore, if anyone   is   in Christ,   he is   a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."). Only Christ is perfect. We are not perfect and will only become perfect once we have been perfected by Christ after we have died and left these sinful bodies of ours behind. This is evident in the fact that we do things that we do not want to do

How to be content in your life

3  Psalm 37:3-4: Trust in the  Lord , and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4  Delight yourself also in the  Lord , And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Remain faithful to the Lord and he will build your life around you. He will give you the desires of your heart; things that you may not even know. Live peaceably and humbly and seek the Lord in all you do, whether big or small. Be faithful in accordance with your portion at that time.  Luke 16:10-11 "He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?" Do not constantly focus on what is yet to come. Do not be a dreamer but live for now, for Christ in whatever you are doing. Live faithfully and do what is right, no matter how insignificant it may seem to you. Treat every situation as Christ would. Fo

An article from an atheist: How ironic.

Below is an article i stumbled across on http://www.atheistrev.com/2011/07/how-many-christians-have-read-their.html. A blog by yet another atheist who spends his precious time trying to disprove something that he doesn't believe in anyway. The fact they he finds it necessary to do so and to try and encroach on the beliefs of others is strange in itself and downright decadent. But anyway, the content of this article is interesting and rather ironic. Give it a read and see if you can see the irony: July 21, 2011 How Many Christians Have Read Their Bible? I cannot help wondering what percentage of self-identified Christians in the United States have read  their bible  from cover to cover. I suspect that if more had read it, there would be fewer Christians. Once one realizes what the book contains, it becomes considerably more difficult to insist that it is "holy." No, this isn't a post about religious literacy, although that is certainly relevant. And it is not

Dealing with our problems

Mark 11:23  "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says." Often when we are faced with problems we pray to God for help and live our lives almost timidly until the situation is resolved. As Christians we should not do this. We have great authority on Earth through Christ. Jesus does not tell us to ask God to resolve a problem, look at Mark 11:23. Jesus tells us to speak directly to the problem with our authority through him. Words are powerful. Proverbs 18:21 states: "Death and Life are in the power of the tongue. As a Christian, our words have the authority and power of Christ. Have confidence in the words that you speak over things in Jesus' name. -BACChristian

An article from Living Waters:

The Democratic Party's flip-flop and the resulting anger and confusion about whether or not to put reference to God into their platform, highlighted the great weakness in our political system. The Yes and No vote is reminiscent of another vote that was taken 2,000 years ago, which resulted in the one-man steering committee washing his hands of the whole process. This is what happens when a nation abandons the Bible as its moral guide. It has no rudder in the stormy sea of human opinion, so it is driven by whatever wind blows the hardest. When the Bible is abandoned, the question is asked, "Is killing a child in the womb morally okay?" The answer comes from those who yell the loudest. The same applies with homosexuality and other moral issues. Abraham Lincoln once said, "Our government rests in public opinion. Whoever can change public opinion, can change the government..." That becomes a weakness and not strength, when the Bible is left out of the equation.

Dostoevsky - The Idiot

Fyodor Dostoevsky was a Russian author famous for books such as 'Crime and Punishment' and 'The Idiot'. It is of general opinion that 'the idiot', the main character in the book of the same title, represents Jesus. Whether this is true or not I cannot say, however one cannot help but see such resemblance - read it to see for yourself. Looking at one scene in the book, a certain group of people have backstabbed 'the Idiot' having written a nasty and offensive newspaper article about him. Whilst the Idiot is offended, confused and upset with them, he will not leave them and is willing to continue to humbly serve them if needed and to be their friend. At one point an on-looker becomes so angry with 'the idiot' for 'keeping acquaintance with such horrible people' (sound familiar?). She becomes even more angry of the fact that despite these 'horrible people' treating the Idiot so badly he will forgive them and continue to be their

Living in the Knowledge of Christ's Return

One of the hottest topics in the Bible amongst BAC's and non-BAC's alike is the end times and the return of Christ. Everybody has an opinion on it and belongs to some school of thought over how and when it will all happen. Most believe that it is right around the corner - the latest catastrophe in the news being something very significant, some believing that the end times have already began. One thing that we can be certain of is that Christ's return is nearer than when we first believed. ( Romans 13:1 1 "And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed."). Revelation 1:1-3 1  The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified  it  by His angel to His servant John,  2  who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.  3  Blessed  is

The Love of God

I Corinthians 13:4-7 4  Love suffers long  and  is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;  5  does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;  6  does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;  7  bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. To better comprehend God and the things He has done for us, we must be able to comprehend love; for God is love ( 1 John 4:8 ). The world is sinful and not of God, therefore it is no surprise that the world's perspective on love - God's greatest trait- is warped. This warped perspective that is forced upon us by our own desires and our cultures infects our minds so that we do not know the meaning, nor application, of real God-like love. This can cause us many problems, including very damaging relationships that can leave us hurt, angry, rejected, insecure, unfulfilled and empty (the list goes on!). As humans we are made with a de
