The Gospel in Isaiah 59 - 60

Image
Isaiah chapters 59-60 presents a perfect picture of the gospel, even though it is written approximately 600 years before Jesus came to earth. These chapters add to the weight of the Bible as the supreme Word of God and give us hope in a bleak situation. For those people at the time of writing of the book of Isaiah, the things spoken of were things to look forward to. For us today, these things have come to pass and the hope in Christ Jesus is available to us right now. Read Isaiah 59-60 and see the living breathing Word of God. The Hopeless Situation We are In: Chapter 59 Chapter 59 provides a picture of the world today and the current position for those who do not know Christ Jesus. Are you one of those people? Isaiah 59 1-3 states, " Behold, the   Lord ’s hand is not shortened,  That it cannot save;  Nor His ear heavy,  That it cannot hear. 2  But your iniquities have separated you from your God;  And your sins have hidden  His  face from you,  So that He w

BACChristian is designed to debunk theological nonsense, explain the Gospel and to show how the Bible is the inerrant word of God. This post, being slightly different from the others, looks at the modern financial economies and their possible connection to time cycles ordained in the Bible. It may be a post out of a conspiracy theory nut's dreams, however the information raises serious questions which all links in with the Bible. The Bible often instructs us on financial matters. It teaches general principles of money management such as to not be indebted to anybody and to tithe our earnings. In Matthew 25:14-30 Jesus speaks on the parable of the talents, whereby people are given money to invest.  However, the Bible also provides more specific instructions. Turn to Leviticus 25 . God instructs the Israelites that every seventh year is to be a year of rest - a year of rest for the farm land; a year of rest for investing; a year of repayment of debts; and a year to treat

James 1:2 - How to take joy in hard times

James 1:2 "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials." Keeping faith in God during hard times should be relatively easy if you know the truth and have the truth within you because you know that this world is just a flash in comparison to eternity ( 2 Corinthians 4:17 ) and that no matter what happens, nothing changes the truth of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, for Christ Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever ( Hebrews 13:8). However to remain joyful in that faith is a different matter and is much more difficult. James 1:2 does not just tell us to remain faithful through hard times, but also to remain joyful in that faith.  How can one take joy in a terrible bleak situation? First, note James 1:3: ""knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience." James 1 tells us to have joy during trials because the testing of faith produces patience. Therefore, James 1 is talking to those who already have a fait

Psalm 22: the separation; lowliness; and spiritual affliction Jesus endured for you

Psalm 22 My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so  far from helping Me, And from  the words of My groaning? 2  O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear; And in the night season, and am not silent. 3  But You  are  holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel. 4  Our fathers trusted in You; They trusted, and You delivered them. 5  They cried to You, and were delivered; They trusted in You, and were not ashamed. 6  But I  am  a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised by the people. 7  All those who see Me ridicule Me; They shoot out the lip, they shake the head,  saying, 8  “He trusted in the  Lord , let Him rescue Him; Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!” 9  But You  are  He who took Me out of the womb; You made Me trust  while  on My mother’s breasts. 10  I was cast upon You from birth. From My mother’s womb You  have been  My God. 11  Be not far from Me, For trouble  is  near; For  there is  none to help. 12  Many bulls
